Drug team makes another meth bust

The Cass County Drug Enforcement Team recently reported on Thursday, May 19, detectives located multiple meth labs at a residence in the 69,000 block of Elkhart Road in Edwardsburg.

Members of the drug team received information about meth related activity and a wanted subject at the residence. During the investigation officers located two one style pot meth labs and evidence of numerous previous labs.

Police also recovered meth manufacturing components, methamphetamine and evidence to meth sales. Two subjects were taken into custody as a result of the investigation.

One adult female was arrested at the scene for an outstanding warrant for child neglect, maintaining a meth lab, production of hazardous waste, possession of methamphetamine, and maintaining a drug house.

The adult male subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant for parole absconding, maintaining a meth lab, production of hazardous waste, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a drug house. Both subjects were lodged at the Cass County Jail where they await arraignment in 4th District Court.

Child protective services was called to the scene and one minor child was taken into protective custody.

A hazardous waste disposal company was called to the scene due to the presence of hazardous waste.
