Eleven-year Bertrand Township Board member John Mefford was recalled from office. The township voted 343-179 to oust the embattled Bertrand Township supervisor. His friend and fellow board member Dick Haigh was also recalled by a vote of 295-233. Trustee David Zelmber survived the recall election. Residents voted 291-236 to not recall him.
