The Cass County Free Health Clinic Board of Directors announced Monday that the last day for patient services will be June 22 at Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital.

The Cass County Free Health Clinic has been serving the medically underserved for eight years.

During those eight years, clinic volunteers provided health care for more than 7,500 client visits.

Due to the lack of physician volunteers, they are unable to sustain a weekly clinic.

The board wishes to express its appreciation to the numerous volunteers who were needed to provide quality health care to 24 patients during the course of an evening clinic.

“Many volunteers had never worked in health care, and we thank them for their faithfulness of service and their professionalism,” the board stated.

“We also thank Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital for the generous donation of space and services to the clients of the Free Health Clinic.

“In addition, we thank Linda Campbell, RN, GNP, whose untiring devotion to the clinic was essential to the quality of care we delivered. Finally, we thank Dr. James Wierman for his compassion and inspiration and for providing each of us with this opportunity to serve.”
