Patrick Michael Walters, 53, of East Walnut Street, Kalamazoo, Mich., died at 6:10 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2011 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo following an extended illness.

Mr. Walters was born Dec. 3, 1957 in Niles to Curtis E. and Joan V. (Grummell) Walters and graduated from Brandywine High School in Niles. He lived in Kalamazoo since 1982 and was a longtime employee of Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

He enjoyed reading science fiction. He also enjoyed the fellowship of his fellow employees, who supported him in his final illness.

Patrick is survived by his brother, John P. Walters of Texas; a sister, Frances Walters of Niles; and three nephews.

Mr. Walters was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Joan Walters, and a sister, Catherine Sibley.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements were made at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
