The Niles Garden Club, along with the Niles District Library, held a garden party Saturday at the library. Various speakers spoke on a number of garden interests.
Grey Leyes from Ginger Valley spoke about “What’s New in Plant Varieties” at 10 a.m. and “Gardening for Birds and Butterflies” at 11:30 a.m.
After a break for lunch, Nancy Clough, a master gardener and member of The Niles Garden Club, spoke on “Growing Herbs and Vegetables as Companions.” For the last speaker, Janine Frizzo-Horrigan spoke on “The Growing & Uses of Herbs” followed by tasting of herbal teas. A large crowd was on hand as everyone is ready for spring planting.
This event is held every year and everyone is invited. It is a free service of The Niles Garden Club and the Niles District Library.
