CASSOPOLIS — Cass County Board of Commissioners created the county Land Bank Authority on Oct. 16, 2008. An intergovernmental agreement between the Michigan Land Bank Fast Track Authority and the Treasurer of the County of Cass established its composition.

The Land Bank Authority Board consists of five members — county treasurer, grants and projects manager, two county commissioners and a Brownfield Authority member.

Any change in the member make-up must by approved by resolution of the county Board of Commissioners and submitted to the state authority for concurrence.

Treasurer Linda Irwin, as chair of the Cass County Land Bank by statute, requested that grants and projects manager, unfilled since Sandy Gower took a position in Ingham County, be replaced by an at-large member.

Commissioners approved this request for an at-large member March 17.

The change now goes to the state authority to concur.
