Richard Snyder, 89 / June 12, 1921 — March 14, 2011

Richard C. Synder, 89, of Baroda, died at 5:55 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2011 at Jordan’s Nursing Home in Bridgman of natural causes.

He was born June 12, 1921 in Benton Township. He was a lifetime area resident.

Richard was a U.S. Army veteran and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and woodcutting. He was employed in auto specialties as an inspector.

He is survived by his sons, Donald (Terri) Snyder of Sawyer and Kenneth (Norzing) Snyder of Everett, Wash.; daughter, Nancy (Leslie) Bigelow of Rochester, Minn.; stepson, Richie (Marla) Albright of South Bend; stepdaughters, Bev Pressnall of Mishawaka, Ind., Brenda Albright of Niles and Kathy (Rich) Moore of Niles; a sister, Dorothy Hartline of Scottdale, Mich.; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Laverne Albright; his parents, Clarence and Minnie Snyder; a stepson, David Albright; a brother Carl Snyder; and two sisters, Evelyn Bucher and Marian Snyder.

A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, March 19 at Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan with Pastor Don Smith of Zion Evangelical Church of Christ officiating.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan.
