NILES — Duane James Nichols, 73, of Hartford, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, in Grand Rapids.

After high school Duane joined the U.S. Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country for two years as a heavy equipment crane operator in the 7th Engineering Battalion at Camp Pendleton in California.

Duane worked for Bosch Corp. and retired after more than 40 years of dedicated service.

Funeral services for Duane will be held at North Shore Memory Gardens on Monday, March 21, at 2 in the afternoon with a time of visitation one hour prior.

Memorial donations may be made in Duane’s memory to the National Parkinson Foundation, P.O. Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home of Niles and North Shore Memory Gardens of Coloma.
