Cass County Drug Enforcement Team announced that on Friday, March 11, at approximately 1:30 p.m. narcotics investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of W. Wayne Street in Dowagiac

A search of the property found two active, one-pot-style methamphetamine labs, methamphetamine product inside the residence and at least 25 previous methamphetamine lab remains on the property.

Two adults were arrested at the scene for manufacturing methamphetamine within 500 feet of a residence,manufacturing methamphetamine, production of hazardous waste, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a drug house and, as children were home during execution of the search warrant, child endangerment.

Both adults were lodged at the Cass County Jail.

Two children were placed into the custody of the Child Protective Services division of the Michigan Department of Human Services.

A chemical clean-up and disposal service was called to the scene to remove numerous bags of methamphetamine lab waste as well as the active labs. This matter is still under investigation.
