CASSOPOLIS — Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that on Monday, March 14, at approximately 9:36 a.m., a personal-injury traffic crash occurred in the eastbound lane on U.S. 12 East, M- 217, Porter Township.
A pickup truck driven by Zachery Jacobs, 21, of Vandalia, received multiple injuries when he failed to see a garbage truck driven by Todd Camilo-Guijosa, 23, which had stopped to make a left turn into a driveway and ran into the garbage  truck.
Mr. Jacobs was transported to Elkhart, Ind., General Hospital by Porter ambulance for his injuries sustained in the crash.
Mr. Camilo-Guijosa and his passenger, Jason Harman, 37, were not injured in the crash.
Assisting Cass County Deputies were Edwardsburg police and Porter Township EMS fire personnel.
