Rodney A. Grindeland, 63, of Edwardsburg, passed to his rest Monday, Feb. 21, 2011 at Ft. Wayne Veterans Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born July 3, 1947 in Decorah, Iowa and lived in this area the past several years.

Rodney had worked in the parts department for Gates Chevrolet in Mishawaka, Ind. He served in the Air Force in the Vietnam War for four years and was discharged as a sergeant.

Rodney is survived by his sister, Diana (Jay) Greenwood of Granger, Ind.; and Diana and Jay’s children, Adam Greenwood and Cara Greenwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merlin and Doris (Dahlen) Grindeland, and several aunts and uncles.

There will be a private family interment of Rodney at Adamsville Cemetery.

There will be no services or calling hours.
