Heidi Lynn Heckman and Ryan Keith Bentzer are engaged and are planning to marry in an outdoor ceremony May 21, 2011, in Elkhart, Ind.

Heidi graduated in 2000 from Ross Beatty High School in Cassopolis,. In 2007 she graduated from the Michiana Healthcare Training Inc., where she received a certified nursing assistant license.

Her grandparents are the late Richard and Joanna Heckman of Union.

Ryan is a 2001 graduate of Edwardsburg High School and a 2003 graduate of Southwestern Michigan college with an associate degree in applied science.

He is the son of Karl and Debbie Bentzer. His grandparents are Leo and Verlaine Hoffman of Edwardsburg and Fritz and Barbara Bentzer of Elkhart.
