Cass County residents can now use iPhone app to leave a non-emergency crime tip for law enforcement officials.

The website, CrimeReports.com launched its “TipSubmit Mobile” program for iPhone Tuesday.

The new software tool is the first anonymous and fully featured crime tipping mobile app for iPhone.

CrimeReports, creators of the National Crime Map, announced the launch of the free TipSubmit Mobile app for iPhone this week. The app is the first anonymous and fully featured iPhone application that lets the public submit tips to law enforcement agencies to help solve and prevent crime.

“With our track record in anonymous tip management, tipsters can feel secure in their safety and anonymity using this powerful new tool,” said Kevin Anderson, vice president in charge of the TipSoft product suite.

The new mobile application augments the existing TipSoft tools that allow the public to submit anonymous tips via phone, web and SMS Text-a-Tip. The iPhone app offers more powerful options than the existing SMS Text-a-Tip solution offers, allowing the public to easily auto-locate the nearest agency they can submit to or select one manually.

Tips submitted through the app may also include uploaded images and video and even establish an anonymous ongoing two-way dialogue and real-time chat with the receiving agency.

There is no cost to the public to use this application and it will be released for additional mobile platforms in the coming months.

This app is in addition to the CrimeReports iPhone app that is also available for free and allows residents to see what crime is happening in their neighborhoods.

As all of the law enforcement agencies in Cass County are subscribed to both of these products, the information is available for residents’ use free of charge.
