Patrick Hamilton Elementary School turned into a winter wonderland last Thursday evening for its annual Pajama Night as 250 students and their families came to participate in the night’s activities (dressed in their pajamas, of course!) and to meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

“It’s good for the kids to be here and have fun and share it with their families,” said Julie Hewitt, Title I paraprofessional.

Hewitt, along with the rest of the Pat Ham staff, manned different stations, such as craft making and cookie decorating.

“I made some crafts — a peanut butter bird feeder!” said Erin Schultz, a third grader in Judy Bussler’s room.

Families were entertained by guest readers sharing some of their favorite Christmas stories.

A sing-along led by members of the high school choir was a favorite activity for many.

First grader Nathan Hunsberger exclaimed, “I loved it! I loved when I was singing some songs.”

Media aide Vickie Herter helped organize the event.

“This was my first Pajama Night at Pat Ham, and what a great time I had!” said Herter.

“It was fun to see the students react to the decorations, lights and all of the fun stuff to do.

“Many students enjoyed seeing their teachers in pajamas,” she added.
