Barbara Jean Tredway, 50, of Edwardsburg, passed to her rest Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 as a result of a one-vehicle accident when her auto left the road on May Street, east of M-62, and into a tree.

She was born Aug. 26, 1960 in South Bend to Robert and Mary (Kaley) Newcomer. She moved to the Edwardsburg area in 2002 from Granger, Ind.

First of all, Barbara was a loving mother to her family. She enjoyed reading, swimming, was a great cook for her family and was artistic and creative. Her goal in life was being supporter of beating cancer and doing check-ups.

Barbara spent more than 20 years with Reith-Riley Construction of Goshen, but most recently she worked for the South Bend School Corp., being in the Edison school system.

She was married July 22, 1998 in Bristol, Ind. at Bonney Mill Park to Joseph L. Tredway. He survives, along with three children: Kylea (Zion) Ulrich of Woodrich, Ill., and twins at home, Kara P. and Adam R. Her mother and stepfather survive, Mary and Roger Bruegel of Vandalia and Sebring, Fla.; one sister, Ruth Ann (Harold) Sisco of New Carlisle, Ind.; and a brother, Danny Newcomer of Elkhart, Ind.

Her father, Robert Newcomer, preceded her in death.

Friends and family gathered Sunday, Nov. 21 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Hope United Methodist Church, 69941 Elkhart Rd., Edwardsburg.

The funeral service was held Monday, Nov. 22 at 11 a.m. at the church, where friends called one hour before the service.

Burial followed at Adamsville Cemetery.
