Duane T. “Junebug” Pearson, Jr., 10, of Cassopolis, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010 at Bronson Hospital, Kalamazoo.

He was born May 17, 2000 in Cassopolis to Duane and Alissa (Hopkins) Pearson, Sr.

Along with his parents, Duane is survived by ten brothers and sisters; Deidra Hopkins of Chicago, Christopher (Amber) Hopkins, Rachel Pearson, Cassandra Pearson, Constance Pearson, Andrew Pearson, Tracey Pearson, Victoria Pearson and twins Joseph and Justin Pearson, all of Cassopolis; paternal grandmother, Deloris Pearson of Cassopolis; maternal grandmother, Mary Parker of O’Fallon, Ill.; three nieces, Aliyah Rahmaan, Akeira Hopkins and Aiyahna Jarrett of Cassopolis; three nephews, Ahmad Rahmaan, Elijah Hopkins, Emmanuel Hopkins of Cassopolis.

Family and friends gathered Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at the Church of Cassopolis, 520 Pearl St., Cassopolis. The Rev. Christopher J. Pittman officiated.

Interment followed in Calvin Township Cemetery.

The family prefers memorial contributions be made to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 24359 Northwestern Highway, Suite 225, Southfield, MI 48075 .

Arrangements have been entrusted to Connelly Chapel, Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis.
