Edwards R. Bardner, 78, of 10729 Pioneer St., Mishawaka, passed away suddenly Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 19, 2010 at Bronson LakeView Hospital in Paw Paw, Mich.

He was born Feb. 28, 1932 in Holdingford, Minn., the son of Andrew N. and Elizabeth D. (Hricz) Badner. On Sept. 4, 1983 in Marcellus, he married Barbara J. (Sefren) Politowicz, who preceded him in death Oct. 20, 2006.

Edward served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was a life member of the Marcellus VFW Post No. 4054 and served as commander twice. He formerly was a member of the American Legion Post 39. He earned the 50th Anniversary Korean Service Medal. He formerly was employed at Miles Laboratory in Elkhart, Ind.

Surviving are two daughters, Dolores (Scott) Wilhelm of Michigan City, Ind. and Lorraine (Jimmie) Turner of Alexandria, Va.; three sons, Edward M. (Patty) Badner of Cassopolis, Michael (Glorianna) Badner of Montgomery, Ala. and Andrew Badner of Cassopolis; three stepdaughters, Cynthia (Steven) Juskiewicz of Gales Ferry Conn., Pamela (Randall) Strong of Lawton, Mich. and Therese (Raymond) VanUum of Paw Paw; five stepsons, Richard (Kathy) Politowicz of Barrington, Ill., Michael (Gayle) Politowicz of Elgin, Ill., Gregory (Patsy) Politowicz of Dowingtown, Pa., David (Theresa) Politowicz of McHenry, Ill. and Daniel (Kim) Politowicz of Schoolcraft, Mich.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Irene (Raymond) Smudde of Aurora, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

Military memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 at Mater Funeral Home in Marcellus.

Burial of cremains was at Marcellus Cemetery.

The family received friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 23 at the funeral home.
