Robert ‘Bob’ PeGan, 67

Robert “Bob” PeGan, 67, of Goshen, Ind., passed away at Elkhart General Hospital in the early hours of Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010.

Bob was born Sept. 24, 1943 to Phillip and Josephine PeGan in Niles.

After graduating from Niles High School in the early 1960s, Bob was drafted in to the United States Army, where he served as a medic during the Vietnam War.

When Bob wasn’t out fishing he could be found hunting, camping, making a fire or riding around on his John Deer tractor. Bob was obviously and avid outdoorsmen, he got so much joy out of watching his family while camping and making memories with them outdoors. When Bob’s health deteriorated to where he couldn’t be out hunting he spent time online at pogo.com playing games and being a “Midnight Fridge Raider” at his family’s home.

Bob is preceded in death by his mother, Josephine.

He is survived by his children, Lori (Chuck) Shade of Middletown, Ohio, Dan PeGan of South Bend, Ind. and Vicki Brown of Middletown; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Roger (Patricia) PeGan of Niles, Nancy Bakeman of Niles, Ronald (Leanne) PeGan of Goshen, Ind.

Funeral services to honor Bob’s life will be held on Monday, Oct. 18, 2010 at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel in Niles at 6 p.m. with a time of visitation two hours prior. Pastor Bob Jackson will be officiating.

Memorial donations may be made in Bob’s memory to the family, c/o Ronald PeGan, to be distributed to various veterans’ organizations.
