Kenneth Filley, 88

Kenneth M. Filley, 88 of Dublin, Ga., formerly of Vandalia, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010 at the Veterans Home in Dublin, Georgia.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, obtaining the rank of 1st lieutenant.  He worked for American Coach Co. in Cassopolis and Milledgeville, Ga.

Kenneth is survived by four daughters, Sandy (George) Smith, Haddock, Georgia, Barbara (Cloyd) Jackson, Renton, Wash., Beverly (Don) Graham, Milledgeville, Ga., and Lisa (Keith) Moore, Bradford, Ill.; three sons, Kenneth (Shirley) Filley, Augusta, Ga., Howard (Pam) Filley, Eatonton, Ga., and Michael Filley; sister-in-law, Mildred Filley, Vandalia; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends gathered on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010 at 2 p.m. for a graveside service with military honors at Birch Lake Cemetery, Vandalia. Pastor John D. Messner of Marcellus United Methodist Church officiated.

Military honors were provided by the U.S. Army, Efton James American Legion Post 3206, Cassopolis, and William E. Lozier VFW Post 10704, Cassopolis.

Local arrangements have been entrusted to Connelly Chapel, Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis.
