Marylou Holbert-Marsh, 94

Marylou Holbert-Marsh, 94

On the quiet, serene morning of Sept. 18, 2010 at White Oaks Assisted Living, Lawton, Mich., at the age of 94, Marylou Holbert-Marsh was called home by her Heavenly Father.

Marylou enjoyed a full life. She began her life’s journey on July 28, 1916 when she was born to the parents of Amos and Mamie Edwards in Hadley, Ind. Marylou’s first husband Kenneth Holbert preceded her in death on Christmas Day, 1964. In October 1968 she married Herbert Marsh and inherited two sons, Lee (Caryla), who resides in Portage, Mich., and Lynn (Karen) who lives in Plymouth, Ind.

Marylou has several grandchildren, including Lynn’s and Karen’s children, Paul (Christine) Marsh, Paula (Philip) Williams and Daniel (Ann Marie) Marsh; and Lee’s and Caryla’s children, Brenda (James) Graham, Craig (Kim) Marsh, Debbie (Kurt) Weslock, Shaye Crowell, Jason Crowell and Kelly (Matt) Bonine. Marylou has 22 great-grandchildren.

She loved her flowers, her garden and her hummingbirds which she shared with all who passed her way. When someone was sick, she was faithful to visit them along with those who were in nursing homes. She was the co-owner of Holbert Oil Co. and often times generously donated oil to those in need. She was a long-time active member of Bertrand Bible Church (Rosewarne Bible). Marylou was a faithful, devoted person who spent a daily time of devotions, reading and praying.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Edwards; and then in 1989, her beloved husband, Herb.  She has left behind a family who loves her dearly and has been enriched in so many ways by her life.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel, located at 61453 M-51 in Niles with a time of visitation beginning one hour prior.

Memorial contributions may be made in Marylou’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk in care of White Oaks Assisted Living Center 300 White Oak Rd., Lawton, MI 49065.
