CASSOPOLIS — Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports his deputies handled a personal-injury crash at Burn Lynd Street and M-60 in Howard Township at 6:43 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17.

The driver, identified as 51-year-old Thomas Claude Woodley Jr. of Niles, said he lost control in the gravel and ran off the roadway into the grass. He was transported to South Bend, Ind., Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.  A helmet was worn at the time of the accident. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. Howard Fire and SMCAS Ambulance assisted deputies at the scene.
