Justin Deuel and Laura Billings are the proud parents of Bennett Alexander Deuel, who was born Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at 7:31 p.m. Bennett weighed seven pounds, eight ounces, and measured 20 3/4 inches long. His parents were both stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska, while on active duty in the Army and met when they were both deployed to Iraq.  Justin graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 2002. Laura is originally from Buffalo, N.Y. Grandparents are Danny and Janet Hagen from Dowagiac, Stephen and Karen Billings from New York and Mindy Deuel from Portage. Bennett and his parents have settled in Dowagiac where Bennett is gracious enough to allow his great-grandmother Joyce Allen to occasionally babysit him while his parents are attending Southwestern Michigan College.
