Martha’s life began on Aug. 18, 1927, in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of William and Irene (Jaworski) Andrzejewski.

On Nov. 27, 1947, she was united in marriage to Ralph Parmley.

Martha, 83, of Dowagiac worked for Dowagiac Union Schools for 11 years as a bus driver.

She was very proud and honored to be a foster grandparent for the Cassopolis Public Schools.

She also was a volunteer for CASA.

Her greatest joy was her family which includes her children Brian (Phyllis) Parmley, Bruce (Susan) Parmley both of Dowagiac, Kathleen (Dean) Bailey of Eau Claire, Daniel (Linda) Parmley of Edwardsburg; her grandchildren Tracy Groth, Carrie (Keith) Parritt, Gail (Don) Pederson, Rodney Bailey, Julie (Alan) Steinke, Bruce (Holly) Parmley, Monica Parmley, Trevor (Jill) Parmley, Joshua (Tiffany) Parmley and Shannon Parmley; great grandchildren Brian, Alyssa, Zachary, Benjamin, Brittany, Brooke, Elizabeth, Jenna, Rodney III, Heather, Sarah, Irene, Seth, Sierra, Allie, Carmon, Kiera, Christopher, Brittany, Brooke.

Martha passed away Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at her home with her family by her side.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph in 1988, a great-granddaughter Faith, and her foster daughter Susan Polomcak.

Martha’s family will gather with friends on Thursday, Sept. 16, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Yazel-Clark Chapel.  Her funeral service will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church led by Father Kevin Covert.
