Katalin “Margit” Kakuk, 100, passed away at 7:40pm Friday, September 10, 2010 in her residence.

Margit was born on June 25, 1910 in Gyor, Hungary to Josef and Ethel (Torok) Lang.  She was married in 1934 in Turkey to Lajos “Louis” Kakuk. He died on March 20, 1966. She was also preceded in death by 4 sisters and 4 brothers.

Surviving are a daughter Elizabeth Pinnyei of Edwardsburg; a son Louis (Julia) Kakuk of Fortine, Mont.; 4 grandchildren Marta (Mark) Makielski, and Laszlo (Debbie) Pinnyei both of Edwardsburg, Kathy (Paul) Beaumont, and Frank (Teresa) Kakuk both of Fortine, Mont.; 10 great-grandchildren Laura, Annie, Laszlo, Shawn, Julia, Diane, Shaleen, Krista, Cory, and Tenice; and a great-great-grandchild Clarence.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Edwardsburg. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services in the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
