Catherine’s life began on March 2, 1947, in Silerton, Tenn., the daughter of Thomas and Ruby (Vails) Stacks Sr.

She had worked as a field worker, a housekeeper and was the manager of White Pines Trailer Park in Sister Lakes.

She is survived by: her son, Mark (Deborah) Johnson of Sioux City, Iowa; two sisters, Lessie “Tina” Meyer and Phyllis Lane, both of Dowagiac;  nieces, Mary Soto, Amber Henslee (Goddaughter), Samanta Soto, Mercedes Rodriguez, Andria Casares, Trish (Tim) Seabert and boys, Gina Senter, Brenda Cakebread, Jeannie Marie Stacks and Danielle Rogers; nephews, Jr. Henslee, Tee Bone, Tommy Stacks and Dwayne Rogers; and brothers-in-law, Eddie Rogers and Theodore (Sue) Hughes.

Catherine passed away on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at her home in Chestnut Towers in Dowagiac.

Private family services have taken place.
