Motorists are being cautioned about a person posing a police officer in an unmarked vehicle who reportedly pulled over a woman in Cass County Saturday.

According to the Michigan State Police, a man using red and blue flashing lights stopped a 27-year-old female driving on M-60 and Pinelake in Cass County at 10:15 a.m. Saturday.

The suspect, described as a white male in his 30s and 6 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build and short, blond, wavy hair, told the woman she was being pulled over for speeding and that he was an “undercover police officer with the state police.”

The victim did not observe a uniform, badge, nameplate or gun on the suspect.

The suspect used a CB handset in his truck and shut off his lights when he approached the victim’s car. He had a black and brown doberman pinscher dog in the front seat of his truck — a burgundy, 2009-10 Ford F-150 Lariat four-door Supercrew pickup with a custom matching burgundy cap.

The state police cautions that if someone in an unmarked vehicle attempts to stop your vehicle, call 911 and drive to the nearest police department or populated location.

Anyone with information on the identity of this subject is urged to call the Michigan State Police Niles Post 53 at (269) 683-4411.
