Margaret E. Mangold, 89, of Dowagiac, passed away at Forest Glen Assisted Living in Dowagiac on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010.

Margaret was born on April 15, 1921, to the late Earl and Marguerite (Cunningham) Walker in Decatur.

After school Margaret wed the love of her life, Kenneth Mangold, in 1943.

When he was drafted, she followed him to California and worked in the factory making bomber wheels.

Though Margaret was small in stature, she had a big heart. She loved life and many friends with a free spirit and soul. All of those characteristics together made for a woman who will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2000 and four brothers.

Margaret is survived by: her son, Mike Mangold of Hartford; and the great friends she made at Hospice at Home and especially the staff at Forest Glen.

In keeping with Margaret’s wishes, she has been cremated.
