Juanita’s life began on July 4, 1922, in Dowagiac, the daughter of Edward and Bessie Mae (Farrow) Roberts.

She was united in marriage to Wilbur Lockridge on June 27, 1941, in Niles.

She was a nurse at Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac for several years.

She and her husband were faithful members and supporters of Second Baptist Church.

Juanita  was very active in the church community.

Her loving family includes: her son, Ronald (Susan) Lockridge of Aliso Viejo, Calif.; grandchildren, Ronald Lockridge of Seattle, Wash.,  Rick Lockridge of Portage, Randy Lockridge of Allegan, Kimberli Hunter of Kalamazoo and Lesa Lockridge of Aliso Viejo; sisters, June Parker and Jackie Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews.

Juanita, 88, of Dowagiac, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at Fairview Nursing Home in Centreville.

She is preceded in death by her husband Wilbur in 1978.

Her family will gather with friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Yazel and Clark Chapel, where her funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday led by Sister Rebecca Mitchell.

She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
