Paul Krause and Mike Brown needed a one-hole playoff to decide the 2010 Niles City Golf Tournament’s Championship Flight title on Sunday at Plym Park.

For the second straight year, weather played a huge part in the city tournament.

Last year play was cut short by rain, while this year’s version was actually moved back two weeks after heavy rains saturated the grounds over a two-day stretch.

Krause and Brown tied at 151 after regulation, two shots better than third place finisher John Kessick, the defending champion, who shot 153.

The A Flight championship went to John Fuentes, who shot 162. Josh Townsley finished second with a 166, while Terry Churchill finished third with a 168.

Rick Kidwell finished with a 175 to captured the B Flight title. Matt Brawley was second with a 181 and Tim Howard third with a 187.

The C Flight crown went to Kelly Low, who shot a 195.

Steve Hoskin took second with a 196 and Jake Carter third with a 220.

Bob Freshley won the Senior A Flight championship with a 152. Jim Vidt took second with a 157 and Stan Williams finished third with a 162.

The B Flight title was picked up by Jim Crouch after shooting a 171.

Harry Watson and Ray Neldon finished second and third with scores of 181 and 185 respectively.
