Chris Noble wins at The Lynx

Niles’ Chris Noble is a perfect 10.

The Vikings’ senior-to-be has won all 10 two-day events the Michigan Junior Majors Tour has offered over the last eight years.

He completed the sweep of the 2010 events on Tuesday at The Lynx in Otsego.

Noble earlier this month won the event at South Haven’s HawksHead Links.

At both tournaments, he shot 72 and 73 for a combined 290.

Vicksburg’s Brian Anderson finished second at The Lynx on Tuesday after shooting a two-day total of 310.

Noah Chambers of Schoolcraft was third with a 313, while Vicksburg’s Scott Manski and Luke Tindall shot 322 and 324 respectively to finish fourth and fifth.

At The Lynx, Noble finished with a 145, while Chambers was second with a 155. Anderson took third with a 155 and Brittany Haight of Otsego was foruth with a 157.

Manski rounded out the top five with a 160.

By winning both events, Noble qualified to play in the Michigan Junior Golf Association State Championships Aug. 24-26 at the Pohlcat Golf Club in Mt. Pleasant.

Niles’ Alec DeJonge finished second in the 13-15 Division with a 177 and a combined score of 331.

John Schrader of Niles took ninth in the 16-18 Division with a score of 189 at The Lynx and a combined total of 355.

In the team competition, the West squad, led by Noble, DeJonge and Schrader, finished second with a combined score of 447.

The South team was the winner with a score of 467. The North finished third with a 486.

Next year the Michigan Junior Majors Tour plans to have four two-day tournaments the same four weeks at the PGA majors, with the exception of the Masters week, which will be played in June once school is out.

The tour will try to find courses in southwest Michigan that minic the four courses the majors will be played on.
