The sixth-annual Lee Memorial Foundation Golf Outing raised more than $14,000 to help Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital fund the purchase of an intravenous (IV) Site-Rite VISION ultrasound system.

The outing was held July 9 at Spruce Ridge Golf Club.

The ultrasound system allows for more precise catheter insertion, avoiding puncture or damage to adjacent blood vessels. Along with enhanced safety, the system also facilitates improved delivery of IV fluids.

“We sincerely appreciate all of this year’s golf participants, as well as the numerous businesses and individuals who sponsored the event, contributed prizes and made donations,” said Karen Judd, chair, Lee Memorial Foundation Board of Trustees. “A total of 32 teams competed and we had 53 sponsors, a new record for our outing.”

In addition to sponsorship support, the Lee Memorial Foundation Golf Outing was a big success due to the time and talents of volunteers, committee members, and the staff of Spruce Ridge Golf Club.

“We are grateful for Spruce Ridge’s expertise, as well as the generosity of St. Denys Foundation, the major sponsor, and Preferred Printing, our $10,000 hole-in-one sponsor,” Judd added. “Thanks to their dedication and contributions, everyone enjoyed a beautiful day of golfing and supported one of our community’s most-valuable assets: Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital.”
