Vehicles collide in Calvin

CASSOPOLIS — Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports his deputies handled a personal-injury crash on Brownsville Street, just east of Calvin Center Road in Calvin Township at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 15.

The driver, identified as 29-year-old Ro-Mell Dungey of Cassopolis, was parked along side the road on Brownsville Street awaiting traffic to pass so he could pull into his driveway when a second vehicle struck him from behind.

Mr. Dungey was transported to Lakeland Hospital i n Niles for treatment of his injuries.
Also in the first vehicle was Lorna Odlum and Juergen Odlum of Cassopolis.

They did not sustain any injuries in the accident.

The second vehicle was driven by 47-year-old Gregory Gay of Cassopolis.

Also in the second vehicle was 78-year-old Alice Gay, also from Cassopolis. They did not sustain any injuries during the accident.

Penn Fire and Ambulance along with Life Care Ambulance assisted deputies on the scene.
Seatbelts were worn.

The accident remains under investigation.
