CASSOPOLIS – Rita Kay Corbit, 64, of Cassopolis, died Thursday, June 17, 2010, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, after an extended illness.

She was born Feb. 28, 1945, in Niles, daughter of Sandy and Cal (Callahan) Corbit, who both preceded her in death.

Rita is survived by: two sisters, Jane McIntyre and Georgann (Rick) Temple, both of Edwardsburg; a brother, Clyde Corbit of Cassopolis; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ella Mae Handley; and two brothers, Robert Corbit and George Corbit.

Rita was a retired registered nurse at Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac.
She was a graduate of Cassopolis High School and a graduate of Southwestern Michigan College School of Nursing.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 23, at 1 p.m. at Connelly Funeral Home, Cassopolis.

Officiating will be the Rev. Mary Lou Rasmussen of Decatur.

Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, an hour before the service.
