Gladys LaVon Bailey, 92, of Riveridge Manor, Niles died at 7:25 a.m. Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Riveridge of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 18, 1918 in Bremen, Ind. She was a lifetime area resident and graduate of Mishawaka High School. She was a head cashier for Kroger Groceries.

She married Lloyd W. Bailey on March 28, 1937 in Mishawaka.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; both parents, Clarence and Glenna Cline; a daughter, Joan Louise Bailey; a brother, Harold Cline; five sisters, Velma Crothers, Ruth Whitaker, Lois Lambert and Dorothy and Delores Cline; and two grandchildren, Joy E. and Jill E. Davidson.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Allen (Virginia) Bailey, of Florida, Davis Elliot Bailey, of Buchanan and Ronald Lynn (Marla) Bailey, of Niles; a daughter, Patsy L. (Charles) Davison, of Humboldt, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Becky (Robert) Bailey, of Eisenhauer, Fla., Robin M. (John) Carr-Bays, of Niles, Susie (Jeff) Bailey-Korte, of Palm Bay, Fla., Lindsey Bailey, of Three Oaks and Scott Bailey, of Kalamazoo; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan.

Burial will be at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Niles.
