Thomas E. Masten, 64, of Edwardsburg passed to his rest on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at his home after a very brief illness.
Tom was born Nov. 19, 1945 in Mishawaka, the son of Maxwell Masten Sr. and Mildred MacFarland, and has lived in Michiana all his life.
He was a welder and machinist, recently working for Mid States Tool and Die. Tom was a member of the N.R.A.
Tom was married July 19, 1980 in Elkhart to Linda S. Goheen, who survives, along with four children, Jodi (Steve) Ignowski and Thomas E. Masten II, both of Elkhart, and Joshua (Charlene) Masten and Cheyenne Masten, both of Edwardsburg. There are five loving grandchildren. He has three siblings who survive, including a sister, Shirley “Toots” (Gordon) Johnson, of South Carolina; and two brothers, Maxwell “Bud” (Shirley) Masten Jr., of Edwardsburg and Michael (Tonya) Masten, of Elkhart.
Friends may gather on Monday, June 7 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Hope United Methodist Church, 69941 Elkhart Rd., Edwardsburg, where the memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Jeff Reese, pastor of the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Heartland Hospice, 3625 West Michigan Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49006.
