Frances Lane, 80 / Oct. 4, 1929 – May 24, 2010

Frances L. Lane, 80, of Niles passed through her life at 8:10 p.m. May 24, 2010 at her home.
Frances was born Oct. 4, 1929 to Effie Ryan and Emery Voight in Paducah, Ky.
Frances moved to South Bend with her family in 1942 and graduated from Central High School. On Dec. 6, 1947 she married James C. Lane in South Bend. James preceded her in death on May 7, 2002.
From 1963 to 1978 she was employed at the O’Brien Paint Corp. of South Bend as accounts payable and payroll supervisor. She resided in Michigan since 1974.
Frances leaves three children: Yvonne Lane, of Niles; Jim (Jill) Lane, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and Brian (Cindy), of Edwardsburg. A daughter, Denise Lane Katz, preceded her in death on OCt. 27, 1995. Also surviving to cherish her memory are 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her sister, Evelyn Lemanski, of Tuscon, Ariz.
Friends and family will father at Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main St., Edwardsburg, on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and meet at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Friday to leave in a procession at 11:45 a.m. for a graveside service at Adamsville Cemetery at noon Friday, May 28, 2010. Officiating will be Father Joe McCormick, pastor of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Burial will be at Adamsville Cemetery next to her husband, James.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice at Home, 4017 Chamberlain Rd., Buchanan, MI 49107. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the Hospice at Home team for its excellent care of Frances during the last months of her life.
