Rangers win River Valley tournament

THREE OAKS – The Cassopolis baseball team captured the River Valley Invitational on Saturday.
The Rangers had to go extra innings to win both contests.
In the first game, Cass defeated the host Mustangs 8-1 in eight innings.
In the championship game, the Rangers knocked off Watervliet 2-1 in 10 innings.

Cassopolis at Eau Claire
EAU CLAIRE – The Cassopolis baseball team took advantage of its opponents mistakes, were quick on the base paths and hit the ball well Tuesday night in a sweep of Eau Claire. Cass took the opener 18-3 and won the nightcap 12-2. Dwayne Morgan notched the win in game one, while Ryan Nichols earned the win in game two. Brandon Davis was 5-for-7 in the doubleheader to lead the offensive charge.
“We’re starting to play pretty good ball,” coach Matt Brawley said. “We’re eliminating mistakes and getting aggressive on the base paths.”
