Eddies slip past Bobcats 4-2

NILES – Ashlyn Chambers had a goal and two assists for visiting Edwardsburg as it defeated host Brandywine Wednesday afternoon 4-2.
Chambers assisted on the first two Edwardsburg goals.
Jennifer Sporleder opened the scoring in the 24th minute with an assist from Chambers.
Brandywine tied the score at 1-1 on the goal by the red-hot Nicole Newman 14 minutes later.
Lexie Ritchey assisted on the Newman score.
Brandywine took a 2-1 lead early in the second half as Newman found the back of the net again in the 45th minute.
Six minutes later, Ally Mooth tied the match at 2-2 for the Eddies with an assist from Chambers.
Chambers then put Edwardsburg ahead for good in the 55th minute on an unassisted goal.
Brittany Minix completed the scoring for the Eddies with an unassisted goal in the 69th minute.
Edwardsburg and Brandywine both finished with 13 shots on goal.
The Bobcats’ Carlie Newman had nine saves and the Eddies’ Bridget Teter had 11 saves.
