North Pointe graduates three

Graduation for Lewis Cass ISD’s North Pointe Center was held on May 25.

Graduates were Robert Ausra Jr., Sara Melkus and John Young Jr.

Dominique Simmons, a graduate of Ross Beatty Jr./Sr. High School, was also honored at the North Pointe ceremony.

Mr. Ausra is employed at Ausra Heavy Equipment Co. in Dowagiac.

Miss Melkus is currently employed at Nola’s Salon in Mishawaka, Ind.

She worked for 10 years at the Moose Lodge in Elkhart, Ind., which was developed by her family and became a training site for students.

Mr. Young is currently employed at the Walmart garden center in Niles.

Miss Simmons received her diploma on May 23 from Ross Beatty High School and is working with Michigan Vocational Rehabilitation Services for permanent employment.

Robert Colby, LCISD superintendent, gave the welcome and conferred diplomas on the graduates.

Peter Bennett, North Pointe Center supervisor, was master of ceremonies.

Graduation addresses were given by teachers Molly High, Eileen Weingarten, Sue Higgins and Dave VanLue.

A dance was held after the ceremony to celebrate the graduates.
