A casual celebration of the life of Joyce “Sissy” Turfler, 71, of Hazelhurst, Ga., will take place Saturday, May 22, at noon in Niles at 1010 Joliet Drive.

She died at 5:30 p.m. May 17, 2010, at St. Anthony Hospice in Crown Point, Ind.
Sissy was born Feb. 8, 1939, in Pennsylvania to John and Rose Scanlon.

She was married to John Turfler of Cassopolis who passed away Jan. 10, 2009.

She will be laid to rest with her husband, John, in Hazelhurst.

Survivors include: three daughters, Rose Carlson, Sheila Prillwitz and Trinity Wallace; one son, Gary Cooper; 10 grandchildren; and one brother, Jack Scanlon.
