Chieftain baseball team swept by Gull Lake

RICHMOND – The Dowagiac varsity baseball team dropped a pair of Wolverine Conference games to host Gull Lake on Tuesday.

The Chieftains (10-15, 5-7 Wolverine) lost the first game 6-5 and then fell in the nightcap 7-4.

Zac Hyatt took the loss for the Chieftains in the opener despite nine strikeouts.

He also had a single and a double.

Brett Scanlon had a double, a homerun and four RBIs for the Chieftains, who also got a pair of hits from Jason Turner and Cody Carnell.

In the second game, Cody Cox took the loss.

Aaron Blaske had a single and two RBIs for Dowasgiac. Alex Miller added two hits.
