William Dean Layman, 61, of Niles died unexpectedly at about 8 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010.

On Oct. 8, 1948 in South Bend he was born to the proud late Stanley Dean Layman and loving Mary Jo Kiste.

He was a sergeant E-5 in the United States Marine Corps, where he served for three years. He received honorable discharge and a Purple Heart.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Layman; children, William Jr., Tina, Fred and Danny; stepchildren, Don Jr., Chris and Scott; siblings, Judy, Brenda, Sherry, Rita, Bonnita, Janet, Mary, Jo Marrie, Carolyn and little brother Larry Layman; seven nieces and 15 nephews.

We are all going to miss you. – your wife, children, sisters, brother and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at Union Cemetery in Berrien Center on M-140. Graveside services only on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 5 p.m. The eulogy will be given graveside.
Those wishing to attend the service may follow the procession from Bowerman Funeral Home in Eau Claire to Union Cemetery.
