The Bensidoun French Market and Artisan Faire is set to open Saturday, May 22. The 5th annual French market will run every Thursday and Saturday through Oct. 2 at the corner of Front and Main streets.

As usual the market will feature vendors with gourmet foods, meats, fruits, vegetables, teas, jewelry, artwork and pottery.

Lisa Croteau of the Niles Dowtown Development Authority said there will also be some new vendors this year, including a woman with a new line of handbags and a vendor with a wide variety of flowers and herbs.

Croteau also said Niles residents will be happy to know that the Sisters from the Fraternite of Notre Dame in Chicago will be back the first Thursday of every month with their famous authentic French pastries, breads and tarts.

Confirmed vendors include Froehlich Farms, Jake’s Country Meats, Lavender Hill Farms, Margaret Bryant, Krafty Pats, Springer Family Farms, Luly K Designs, Eckler Farms, Day Lake Apiary, Magdalena Moon Jewelry Designs, Veni’s Sweet Shop, Imperfection Plants and Garden Art, Urban Market Teas, The Paris Soda Shop, Beauty & Body Wellness, Silver Phoenix Jewelry, Bryan Graham Wood Figurines, Artistic Beads/Sheri Havens, Misty LaVoilette “LaVoilette,” Four Flags Garden Club, Just Artsie Fartsie Fun, Fort St. Joseph and Sprague Farms.

There is still some limited space available for vendors. Those interested can call Croteau at (269) 687-4332.
