Charles Trowbridge Jr., 85, of 2118 Miller Drive, Niles died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010 at his home in Niles of natural causes.

He was born May 4, 1925 in Hobart, Ind. He retired from National Standard Co. in Niles. He was a U.S. Navy veteran; member of the Niles Eagles lodge; and a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was preceded death by his wife, Joyce Trowbridge, who died July 29, 2000; parents; four sisters; one sister; daughter-in-law, Mary Trowbridge; and a grandson, Michael.
He is survived by his sons, Dennis Trowbridge, of Niles and Charles “Dewey” (Tina) Trowbridge, of Niles; daughter, Deborah (Craig) Mason, of Niles; three brothers; one sister; three grandchildren, Sabrina, Angela and Tonya; and eight great-grandchildren, Kallee, Ashley, Cody, Derek, Erin, Bradon, Dawson and Tanner.

No services will be held. Cremation has taken place.
