EDWARDSBURG – Kaisha Martin of Dowagiac dominated the second annual Edwardsburg Invitational on Friday night.

Martin won three individual events and was part of the Chieftains’ winning 400-meter relay team.

She won all three individual events without really being challenged and the Dowagiac relay team, which also consisted of Jacoya Brookins, Cierra Mattix and Andrea Bradshaw really wasn’t challenged either.

Martin won the 100- and 200-meters, as well as the long jump.

She posted a time of 12.32 in the 100 and 25.92 in the 200. In the long jump she recorded a leap of 17-feet.

The Chieftains’ relay team posted a time of 52.44.

Dowagiac finished fifth in the overall standings with 50.5 points. Northridge was the team champion with 126 points and Coldwater second with 84, Paw Paw (79) and Niles (70) rounded out the top five.

Host Edwardsburg finished eighth.

Niles standout Madie Rodts was a double winner as she captured the 1,600- and 800-meters.

Rodts ran 5:35.22 in the 1,600 and 2:27.47 in the 800.

Paw Paw won the boys’ portion of the meet with 101 points.

Plainwell was second with 86, Edwardsburg third with 60 and Dowagiac fourth with 58. Niles finished seventh with 51 points. Buchanan was eighth with 33 points.

The Bucks’ Tyler Ganus captured the pole vault when he cleared 12-6.

Host Edwardsburg won the 3,200-meter relay with the team of Zak Eggleston, Austin Horvath, Dustin Moore and Josh Clark, which ran a time of 8:38.36.

Dowagiac’s Troy Butcher captured the 100-meters with a time of 10.94, while the Vikings’ Andrew Wortham won the 400- and 200-meters and was part of the Vikings’ winning 800-meter relay team.

Wortham was clocked at 50.38 in the 400 and 22.38 in the 200.

The 800-meter relay team of Wortham, Ronnie Jones, Anthony Bice and Brandon Partee ran a time of 1:33.84.

Dowagiac captured the 400-meter relay with a time of 44.58.
