Visiting Buchanan and Dowagiac split the singles and doubles flights and had to settle for a 4-4 draw in a non-conference tennis match on Friday.

Dowagiac picked up wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, while the Bucks were victorious at No. 1 and No. 4 singles.

The Chieftains’ Marquira Smith defeated Kirsten Smallwood 7-6(3) and 6-1 at No. 2 singles, while Casey Collins defeated Nash Hughes 6-3 and 6-4 at No. 3 singles.

Kirsten Gordon defeated Macy Howard at No. 1 singles for Buchanan, 6-2 and 6-3. The Bucks’ Ashley Devereaux defeated Maggie Cripe at No. 4 singles, 6-0 and 6-2.

Dowagiac  won at No. 1 and No. 4 doubles.

The Chieftains’ Alyssa Greenwood and Breneesha Jones defeated Jessi Hansen and Kayle Brademas 7-5 and 6-3. Dowagiac won at No. 4 doubles 6-3, 1-6 and 7-6(6) with Allie Flewelling and Erica Greenwood over Beth VanAlstine and Yavonne Otwell.

The Bucks’ wins came from Madie Higgins and Dana Dowell (6-1, 6-4) at No. 2 doubles and from Audrey Funk and Ally Cornwell at No. 3 doubles (6-2 and 6-3).
