The Brandywine soccer team scored four first half goals on its way to a 7-1 non-conference victory over visiting River Valley Thursday night.

Sam Low had a hat trick for the Bobcats, who also got two goals from Nicole Newman. Low also had an assist.

Kaley Jones opened the scoring in the seventh minute as she scored on a penalty kick.

Brandywine made it 2-0 on Low’s first goal in the 16th minute, which was assisted by Angelika Anderson.

River Valley cut the lead to 2-1 in the 20th minute on a goal by Katie Peterson.

A pair of goals 10 minutes apart swung the momentum clearly back into the Bobcats’ favor as Newman and Low scored.

Newman scored in the 27th minute off an assist by Mackenzie Shelton, which Low scored 10 minutes later with an assist from Michaela Greer.

Leading 4-1 at halftime, the Bobcats came out and made sure there was no comeback from the Mustangs.

Newman picked up her second goal of the match off an assist from Brann in the 57th minute and Low completed the hat trick with an assist from Gleason in the 58th minute.

Greer capped the scoring with a goal in the 65th minute, which was assisted by Donley.

Brandywine held a 15-3 advantage in shots on goal.

Bobcat keeper Carlie Newman was credited with a pair of saves.
