NILES – Hanby Pauline (Hass) Lawson, 84, of Niles passed away Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Our Lady of Peace Hospital in Mishawaka, Ind.

After graduating from high school Hanby went through three years of nursing school but stopped her education to return home to care for her father. After falling sick with polio in 1948, she was not able to perform acrobatic dancing any longer. Instead, she became a ceramic teacher to many neighborhood children in the 1970s.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the service on Friday, April 30, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
