A 5-3 loss to visiting Bridgman didn’t sit well with Dowagiac tennis coach Curtis Partee on Friday.

“The team has not been playing good tennis in the past two weeks,” Partee said. “We have just been out of it.”

Dowagiac earn a pair of wins in singles and took just one of four doubles flights.
Marquira Smith rallied from a 3-0 deficit to defeat Caroline Sharer in straight sets at No. 2 singles 6-3 and 6-2.

The other victory came from Casey Collins at No. 3 singles, as she defeated Megan Klutts 6-3 and 6-1.

Jessica Holmes and Hannah McDonald came up with Dowagiac’s doubles victory.
The pair defeated Andrea Haldy and Amber Shepherd at No. 4 doubles 6-2 and 6-0.
