Ring Lardner girls beat Edwardsburg, Buchanan

The Vikings traveled to Buchanan Wednesday and raced against the Bucks and Eddies.
The girls team kept on rolling and winning, scoring 84 points to Edwardsburg’s 47 and Buchanan’s nine.

The boys team finished second to the Eddies with a score of 76-54.

The boys team started well with Kale Pollard taking first in the shot put with a throw of 38-4 and Jamal Hinds long jumping 17-4 inches for a first also. Michael Geiger and Sammy Rodts took second and third in the two-mile run with Rusty Feeback taking a third in the 55-meter hurdles.

The 800-meter relay team took another first with a time of 1:50. It was led by Hinds, Pollard, Feeback and Chad Carlyle.

Sean Craig then came in first in the 800-meter run. Craig also helped the 3,200-meter relay win a first and the 1,600 relay take second. He was assisted by Geiger, Rodts, Ryan Roberts and Cody Ortiz-Leonard.

Ethan Stanfill added a first in the 200-meter run and the 400-meter relay team, which consisted of the same members of the 800 team, took a first also.

The girls started fast and ended even faster.

Asia Brookings keeps breaking school records, three of which she has set this spring.
She now has the long jump record of 15-2 to her credit. She also participated in the 800-meter and 400-meter relay teams along with Maggie Hoff, Jordan Rank, Tala Gentry and Lashonda Greene winning both races.

Miranda Bailey took another first in the shot put and was followed by Emma Doud with a third.

The Viking high jumpers of Olivia Jordan, Miranda Baker and Taylor Glenn took the three top places with Jordan jumping 4-8.

Keilah DosSantos along with Brookings, and Jordan also swept the long jump. Greene and Glenn took first and second in both the 55- and 200-meter hurdle races.

Liz Goble and Haley Aikey finished second and third in the 400-meter run. Deja Jones won the 70 and finished  second in the 100.

Alyssa Middleton also added a third in the 200 to round out the scoring.
